The second most problematic aspect that those at the help desk have to contend with, has to do with controlling your passwords. Active Directory Password Reset is there ensuring that changing passwords through a centralized manager will be fast and easy. Having to change these every so often can be very disrupting to individuals as they are concentrating on a certain task and then all of a sudden have to change thoughts.

For those that work at the help desks they say that having to reset passwords is the second most common reason they are called upon. Having a centralized password manager in the mainframe will help the administrator to organize all passwords quickly and professionally. A specific program ADManager Plus has a built in feature that helps with either single or even multiple users to change them from a central point with just one click.

An appointed help desk technician will be able to import all the users that need to have everything reset from a CSV file. This is short for "comma separated value" which helps to save all data in a table of structured formats. This is normal spreadsheet but has an extra extension, the CSV. It can also be a normal text file that is separated by a comma as well as any character and is normally used in Microsoft.

In order to create such files open a spreadsheet in either Microsoft Excel or Office Calc. If one wants to do this in Notepad start by writing the data and separate each field with a comma and begin each row with a new line. This can be done in spreadsheets as well just using each column for data to be entered.

In a workgroup setting no one computer has control over another and each has its own user account. Normally the most computers using this network will be about twenty and there are no passwords added. They are all on the same subnet and no one is permitted to be on a separate network.

One will only need to reset, when the old one has been forgotten. This will need to be done from the web portal and certain questions and information will need to be filled in before one can continue. To change access, there is no need for identification. The old password will need to be added along with the new.

If one is still not sure on how to reset or change them do not worry. Although the personnel at the help desk might have to deal with this type of problem everyday they will still be helpful. Not everyone is a computer geek and some things just seem to be above ones understanding. The older generations that normally don't work with computers every day seem to have more problems understanding certain aspects when it comes to technology.

With some programs, this Password Reset can be done from their Idap active directory by answering a set of self appointed questions. All users can safely reset and change details without having to keep phoning the help desk. This will ensure that they are then able to concentrate on the more difficult tasks that are asked of them.
